- Phobias: Person with Panic Attacks may develop severe phobias like fear of death, fear of leaving home, fear of driving, fear of public embarrassment, fear of closed spaces, etc.
- Agoraphobia: Agoraphobia is the fear of situations that can trigger panic. And so, a panic attack can trigger fear of panic attack which in turn accentuates panic.
- Isolation: Person becomes aloof due to fear of social embarrassment and isolates himself from people.
- Depression & Suicide: People suffering from extreme forms of panic can retreat into a shell of Depression, and in severe cases, can even contemplate and attempt suicide.
- Patient may take refuge in alcohol or drugs.
- In children it may affect their learning and developmental abilities.
- Constant panic attacks may cause Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Headache, OCDs etc.
