  • Monitoring thyroid hormone levels: It has been recommended by the American Thyroid Associated that all adults above the age of 35 years must check their thyroid hormone levels every 5 years. Those with a family history of thyroid disease, diabetes, or any other endocrine disease should also monitor the functioning of their thyroid gland on a regular basis.
