Molluscum can be diagnosed by a qualified physician purely by clinical examination. Some physicians, however, prefer to confirm the diagnosis. In such cases, the doctor may advise the patient to go in for

  • Skin Biopsy- wherein either skin scrapings are taken from the infected site or a fluid sample is taken from the centre of the eruption and sent to test for the MCV virus.
