• Adenoids Treatment

Treatment
  • Symptomatic treatment like rest to the voice and warm water gargles are also useful in treatment for Adenoids.
  • Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are usually prescribed to control pain and inflammation.
  • Antibiotics are used to control bacterial infections. However, both NSAIDs as well as antibiotics have their fair (and unfortunate) share of side effects ranging from stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, loose stools, etc. that can distress the child more.
  • Many surgeons recommend removal of adenoids or Adenoidectomy as a permanent solution to the problem. However, it has been seen in some children that the immunity takes long time to develop, and in few children, there is no significant difference in the overall wellbeing after adenoids removal.
  • Supplements of vitamins and balanced diet are useful to keep general wellbeing strong in treatment for adenoids.
