Definition of Kidney Stones

Kidney stones, also known as renal calculi (from the Latin rēnēs, "kidneys," and calculi, "pebble"), are solid or hard deposits occurring as a result of crystallization of substances or minerals excreted in the urine.

How the Kidneys Work

  • Kidneys are bean-shaped organs located just under the ribs in the back. They are the waste disposal systems of our body.
  • Blood that passes through the kidneys gets filtered removing any waste products in the process.
  • The essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals are retained and waste products are flushed out through the urine.

When there is excess secretion of these waste products due to any metabolic disorders, or decreased fluid intake or any infections in the urinary tract, kidneys become unable to function well which can lead to accumulation of these waste products causing formation of kidney stones.

They typically form inside the kidneys and the bladder. The terms nephrolithiasis and urolithiasis are used when stones are present in kidneys and bladder respectively.

Homeopathy offers great relief in the form of potentized remedies in kidney stones helping to either dissolve or expel them completely.

The best part about this is that all this is done by the system of Homeopathy, which is gentle in its touch and has absolutely no side effects.
