• Nephrotic Syndrome Diagnosis and Tests

Diagnosis and Tests
Following investigations are needed to establish a diagnosis of Nephrotic Syndrome:
  • Urine Test: This is required to confirm the presence of excess proteins in urine.
  • Blood tests:
    • Renal Function Tests: The parameters of BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen) and Creatinine are checked to assess how the kidneys are functioning.
    • Blood Albumin Test
    • Blood triglyceride and cholesterol levels
  • Renal biopsy confirms the diagnosis of Nephrotic Syndrome.
  • Ultrasonography of Abdomen shows enlarged kidneys.
