Diagnosis of Lumbar Spondylosis can be made with the help of imaging studies:

  • X ray (Lumbo –sacral spine)
  • CT scan
  • MRI (Lumbo –sacral spine) – shows formation of osteophytes, disk herniation and reduced joint space
  • Bone density scans are useful to rule out osteoporotic changes
  • Uric acid and serum calcium tests can indicate additional gout pathology.
