• Ringworm Preventions

Preventions
  • Touching the lesions: Avoid touching the eruptions, scratching or shaving over them, as infection can spread easily to adjacent healthy skin.
  • Washing hands: Keep your hands clean and wash them regularly to prevent spread of infection.
  • Sharing items: Avoid sharing items like soaps, towels, clothes and any sports gear that an infected person comes in direct contact with.
  • Sexual contact: Since sexual transmission of the infection is common in adults, refrain from having sex with an infected person. Barrier methods of contraception like condoms may not be entirely effective in ringworm prevention as lesions may be present on parts of skin not covered by the condom.
