• Physical examination of skin - Examination of skin is usually enough to establish diagnosis.
• Tests - In case of doubts, skin biopsy is done for confirmatory diagnosis. Blood tests are done to rule out Hepatitis C.
• Allergic tests - These are patch tests, done by testing the patient for common allergens.
