When affected person exhibits severe symptoms and they last for at least two weeks POSTPARTUM Depression is suspected. Certain tests are very useful to diagnose Postpartum Depression.

  • History Taking : A doctor will note down in detail all symptoms including your behaviour, frequency of symptoms.
  • Family history : A careful evaluation of family history is also a guide to diagnosis.
  • Evaluation : A physical exam is conducted to rule out any physical disease or endocrine diseases.
  • Laboratory tests : There will be certain tests to distinguish from other diseases like thyroid, diabetes. Also, it will give a better understanding of cause and prognosis of POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION.
