A 45-year-old male patient came to us with the complaint of Anal Fissures since the past three four months. He mentioned that it started suddenly post an episode of severe constipation. Since then the fissure was not healing. He had tried various forms of treatments and was advised to undergo surgery as the last resort, but he was skeptical about the surgery and thus decided to give Homoeopathy a chance. He mentioned that he was constipated often and had to strain a lot during stools. Even though he strained a lot, he always passed small amount of stools. The pain was more after passage of stools and lasted for 4 hours post stools. He mentioned that he experienced gnawing pains in the rectum with a sensation as if his rectum was torn apart. The pain used to be so severe that he used to feel tired and exhausted post stools. He added that now, he dreaded going to the washroom, as he knew it would pain for hours post that. He mentioned that since his complaints began, he had a constant sweetish taste in the mouth. He also had increased appetite and irresistible hunger. Eating spicy and rich food increased his suffering. He was prescribed the Homoeopathic remedy Nitric Acid for his complaints. His condition started improving within two weeks of medication. The intensity of pain started reducing over a period. He was completely better by the end of ten months of treatment. The fissures showed no recurrence and the old one had healed completely.
